Ran into my old coworker and met her husband for the first time. She used to complain about his messiness daily. He was talking excitedly about how much stuff he's purged from their apartment. Apparently she "made" him read the book and he found it life-changing. I myself have only "Kondo'd" my clothes so far. Things are a little tidier and the mornings go a little faster, but nothing particularly revolutionary yet. [ Reply | More ]

Relax. I threw out a LOT of documents during our last move. DH traveled for business and left me to handle the movers solo. I was pregnant and angry. It's been 6 years and he has yet to ask me where the crap is or even unpack all of the boxes of his papers I did keep. [ Reply | More ]

I have the same issue (I posted about the Joan Rivers powder below). There is a particular type of extension that is designed for our type of hair loss -- they are individual strands of hair that attach to individual strands of your existing hair at the root (if that makes sense). I believe they're called Micro Points. My hairdresser actually brought someone from the company in to do a trial on me. I didn't love the extensions -- they left small but visible knots where they attached, and were quite expensive -- but you could check it out if you're curious. In the meantime, definitely try the Joan Rivers powder. [ Reply | More ]

Yes! I was just about to post this. My hair has been thinning on the top of my head for a number of years -- hormonal -- and I love this powder. It's basically like eyeshadow for your scalp, darkens it so that it won't show through the thin spots. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Here's something that liberals can't explain, and which embarrasses them and exposes their worldview as flawed - if "the drug trade" causes violence, how do they explain Japan? Japan actually has a large illicit substances market, and Japanese buyers pay higher prices than almost anywhere on Earth FOR their drugs. But violence related to the drug trade is almost nonexistent within Japan. The drug trade is orderly and organized and almost wholly peaceful. Liberals have no response to this fact. 8 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

If you have connections at an ongoing go with Episcopal. Episcopal program is much stronger. Teachers are excellent but because of the amount of sibs/legs and really connected families I would really hesitate. Especially in my dc year there were a lot of really powerful families who either themselves or a relative sat on the board at an ongoing. My dc had a terrific time and got into a TT (2nd choice for us) but most unconnected families did not because they were aiming for the same TT's as everyone else. Everyone wanted Trinity, Dalton, Spence, Chapin. We applied to a TT that we knew no one else was applying to and thank heavens our dc was a perfect fit and they wanted dc. K placement is the only issue I have with the school. Everything else is perfect. The kids were a sweet bunch and most of the families were approachable, teachers are really creative and engaging and they understand each of the kids well. Judy (director) is supportive of her teachers and also knows each kids name. [ Reply | More ]

Totally! I went in to the derm to discuss a sebaceous cyst on my neck that needs to be removed. He complimented my skin and told me he could tell I took excellent care of it and wore sunscreen and stayed out of the sun, but then he tried to sell me Latisse for my eyelashes. No bloody way! Just look at the cyst and tell me how much it will cost to remove, thank you. Everyone's pushing their potions for $$$$. [ Reply | More ]

Tell him that the teenage years are meant to be a time of discovery and difficulty. EVERYONE feels the way he does at some point in teenage life. Tell him that you felt the same way, and that everyone makes it to the other side. The smart people use it to learn about themselves, finding the good and the bad and preparing for the rest of their lives, b/c that's when life begins AFTER high school. [ Reply | More ]

Not unless really necessary. first of all people need to learn to cope with being very down without medication. Unfortunately this is part of life sometimes. second of all a teenager that takes medication for depression is likely IMHO to take a lot more medication through life thus comprising their health in General. This opinion is based on friends I have who pop pills for everything and compromise their health (side effects of medication cannot be underestimated). If the child is severely depressed and needs medication that's another story. [ Reply | More ]

No need to be sorry, I was told that it has a lot to do with the way ears and the cavities are shaped. DD was prone to ear infections too, but we got a nebulizer so that whenever she got congestion, we would nip it in the bud. These things didn't exist when I was a kid, so sometimes tubes were one of the few options. [ Reply | More ]
