I feel sorry for his parents they seem like nice people who did the best they could with their son who probably is severe adhd or bipolar or depressed. Even though I think he's being an ass I honestly don't think he is trying to be, he is cluelesss. Yes they enabled him but my god have you ever been around a teenager or kid who has severe issues? It's so overwhelming, they just get by day to day in a time before people talk therapy therapy therapy all the time and then you wake up one day and have a kid who won't leave the house. There is no way he can hold a job right now despite the offers he is getting, he needs massive therapy, maybe residential treatment. Kicking him out while getting rid of their problem will just exacerbate his problems. I hope Dr. Phil is able to get them on and offer some real help. [ Reply | More ]

I disagree. I can cite a number of times when I really needed to use those foreign language skills. One case involved speaking to a Turkish woman in Instanbul in Spanish. She explained to me (in Spanish) that her family were Sephardic Jews and that's how she came to speak Spanish. Another time, at the Ducal Palace in Mantua, Italy I served as an ad hoc interpreter between the Italian speaking tour guide and the English speaking tourists. In Portugal, I was able to converse with so many people because I speak Portuguese. If I travel somewhere and that person doesn't speak English, I'll ask if he/she speaks one of the foreign languages I speak. Sometimes it works out. It's a useful skill. [ Reply | More ]

Said program director knows everyone’s name but to DC, she always just says “you!”. DC is very well behaved and of course the woman knows us. Fwiw, she doesn’t say hello to me either and just ignores me when she sees me. I wonder what her problem is. Maybe expecting more donations? here, but sweaty, bald, hairy-backed and shouldered guys who have lost any glimmer of youth are universally unappealing to women. even if you stay in shape and take care of yourself. double-down on your unappealing nature if you're some kind of goateed faggot or otherwise do any pathetic 'virile' male grooming, or god help you get tats or some shit. working out helps you look less pathetic but it can't truly overcome your fundamentally unsexy profile. women end up with these men because they are providers and stable and don't present a high chance of infidelity because they're not innately attractive to most other women. they don't end up with them out of true attraction. they're just 'passable' physically and women don't see them as sexual objects other than understanding that these dudes are all pent up hornballs who likely fall into the 'ewww creep' bucket if they approach attractive women. Well thats really not what you said. In any case, it’s not clear—is she depending on the extra 2.5k to serve as income to fund her lifestyle, or just to cover contingencies like repairs, periods when the house isn’t rented, etc. if the former, I wouldn’t. If the latter, maybe. [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 05.27.18, 12:51 AM Flag

No, she’s not going to depend on it. She would pay for the cheaper house from her income. The mortgage of the cheaper house (including insurance and taxes) would be $2500 or so. She would still make more than enough to cover the new mortgage without taking the rental income into account. [ Reply | More ]
