MIL remarried a much older man and was widowed 4-5 months ago (he was quite old, was ill for a while, and said he was ready for the pain to stop, so his death was not unexpected). Now, MIL wants to visit more often, and every conversation and every single email we exchange with her includes one or more worshipful references to ex-DH, like we are all supposed to miss him like crazy and find life hard to manage without him. It's really starting to wear on me at this point. Like I said, we liked him, but he's not DH's (or my) father. We also lost a baby shortly after birth a little over a year ago, yet don't feel the need to go on about it in every conversation. If you're new to working out, your heart rate is going to be high initially. But with more exercise, your heart rate will eventually decrease. Your heart is just trying to compensate for the increased need for oxygen by pumping faster. You should only worry if you experience chest pain while working out. If that happens rest for a few minutes to see if it goes away, if not, go to the nearest ER. [ Reply | More ]

Because it's not just about you and your selfish needs and desires. For vaccines to be effective they need to have been administered to a critical mass of the population. If people stop getting vaccinated the disease starts to spread and even mutate. Which is exactly what we're seeing with measles right now. [ Reply | More ]

Monday when they are at school, take away all toys, games, and electronics. Strip their room of everything except their furniture, linens, and clothes. Move their homework setup (desk, table, computer, whatever) to a common family area. When they behave, they can earn back their toys, games, and electronics, one at a time, but nothing is allowed in the bedroom. When they misbehave, they lose their toys again, and they get grounded to their room, with nothing to play with or do except sit and calm down. [ Reply | More ]

Often. Nannies are also housekeepers, cooks, etc. everything. Is taken care of. On the one or two nights out of seven DH or I cannot make bedtime they also read stories, tuck kids in, and put them to bed. Shouldn't be hard to understand. Nanny arrives at 600am just in case we both need to catch early flights. Most mornings, kids wake with us. The one morning we need cover, we have it. [ Reply | More ]
