Green Days
Consider your family's fall agenda: Apple picking? Check. Raking leaves? Check. Soccer games? Check. Making the world a better, greener place? Well, we could all use a little help in that department.
You don't have to junk your car or swear off toilet paper. But there are some simple things you can do. Start with SundanceChannel.com's interactive "Eco-mmunity" map, which shows the United States dotted with symbols indicating eco-conscious businesses (green builders, organic grocery stores), events and attractions such as campgrounds and hiking trails. Zoom in to get a better look at your area and click on the symbols for more information. Or type in your zip code and search for specifics like recycling centers or farmers' markets. You can even modify the map with your own listings.
Think of it as a few small steps for man (or woman) and a pretty good leap for humankind.
