Pet Land
The trouble with most stuffed toys is once your kid tires of playing with them, they're as good as orphaned for the duration of childhood.
The quirky PlajaPets Plush Pet Friends keep playtime going. Designed for kids age 4 and up, these soft, handmade critters have detachable body parts. Once your wee one gets bored with one look, he can swap the head, body or tail of one pet for that of another and create a whole new species.
Each pet comes with a distinct profile – Vappu the Goldfish, for example, loves to surf the sea on a boogie board, play dominoes and burp bubbles – to stimulate imaginative play. A web site features info and activities about the pets' homeland, the Plaja Islands, a chain of islands connected by almond bark bridges and licorice ropes.
With six pets in rotation now and six more debuting soon, that adds up to a whopping number of possible creature combos... which is practically guaranteed to translate into hours and hours of busy play.
