Word to Your Mother

Having a baby involves a seemingly endless series of firsts: first roll-over, first sit-up, first bite of food, first step. But no first is more memorable than hearing her utter your name.

Hang onto that moment indefinitely. New Jersey-based jewelry designer Tali Gillette came up with a way to transform your child's first word into a beautiful pendant to be worn close to your heart. Or, incorporate it into earrings, a ring or a bracelet.

Gwyneth Paltrow has been seen wearing it when toting her sweet Apple about town. Choose from modern, circular or vertical word-charms, in 18-karat white gold or 14-karat yellow or rose gold, studded or encrusted with sparkling diamonds (or not). The words are shaped subtly enough that they don't scream "I'm obsessed with my baby."
