Stick 'Em Up

While we know you'd never dream of wrapping a zoo animal wallpaper border around your carefully curated nursery, those four white walls are looking mighty unimaginative.

Thankfully there are alternatives, including Ferm, a line of wall stickers (and wallpapers) imported from Denmark. You may be thinking multicolored stick-on dots aren't for you, either. But Ferm's stickers are a design-minded alternative to some of the cutesier versions on the market.

Pick an intricate motif that brings a bit of nature indoors: a pine branch, a sprig of hydrangea, flapping birds. Many are simple black silhouettes, but there are plenty of colorful floral choices that let you instantly cultivate a secret garden for your little one. Or, hang a statement piece that's got a sense of humor: a giant fingerprint, or a fly on the wall. Ferm even offers an underwater scene that manages not to feel predictable (a fishing hook tempts the finned critters).

But never fear – you'll find no pastel zoo animals here.
