How
Sweet It Is
When
you have a baby, you don't just get a tiny bundle of joy, you also
get a giant bundle of gear much of it bulky and useful for
only a very short time. So anything that serves double duty is a
welcome addition to the nursery. The Sweetness Pouch maternity sash
and sling is the perfect two-for-one accessory, supporting both
mom and baby before and after the big event.
The maternity sash has long been sacred in many cultures, steeped
in meaning and passed down through families. Gina Zimmerman, a prenatal
yoga instructor with a background in art, has reinvented this ancient
garment for today's modern mom, blending holistic tradition with
stylish design. Each pouch is lined in orange silk, embroidered
with a six-petaled lotus (good-vibe symbol of the second chakra,
which rules the womb). On the outside, a variety of fabrics and
colors are available like chocolate corduroy, blue denim, and oatmeal
linen all with a bright ribbon trim that can be worn several
ways, or tucked inside.
After baby is born, the sash really gets useful. It supports and
massages the postpartum belly, and becomes a sling that cradles
and comforts even the tiniest newborns.
If that's not enough, there's also a removable pouch filled with
flaxseed and lavender that provides cooling aromatic comfort for
bellies and later works as a support pillow in the sling, soothing
fussy or colicky newborns with its calming scent. It also works
well as a restful eye pillow for bleary, overtired moms. Now that's
multitasking.
Pretty sweet indeed.
