Pack Happy
You haven't designed the nursery, considered a birth plan or even bought a single onesie. And as for that bag you're supposed to pack to take to the hospital? It's under your bed – empty.
Whether you're extremely busy, extremely disorganized or just in extreme denial, the Birth'a Bag – a pre-packed maternity bag – is for you. The brainchild of Shari Miller Shalom, a mom of two who acted as unofficial maternity bag consultant to many of her birth-bound friends before launching her company, Birth'a Bag is a messenger-shaped carrier containing everything a mom-to-be could possibly need for the delivery room, hospital stay and beyond.
Neatly packed into its many pockets and compartments are a slew of essentials for face and body including cleanser, moisturizer, toothbrush, deodorant, stretchy hair band, cotton T-shirt and a pillowcase. A few easy to forget extras – such as a
CD of soothing music, a disposable camera and an assortment of sweet snacks for the birthing coach – round out the offerings.
Four neutral colors – navy, olive, gray and black – and a coordinating changing pad, allows the bag to do double duty as a stylish diaper/stroller bag post-birth.
Just be sure to order well in advance of your due date. You never know if your new addition will decide to make an early entrance.
