High Time

Ah, the high chair. Faced with the choice of an antiquey oak throwback to Grandma's era, or a cheesy plastic throne, you know better than anyone that your options for baby's mealtime chair are thin at best. Until now, that is. The Nest high chair -- designed several years ago by cool Aussie designer and mom Sally Dominguez -- has finally arrived on these shores, and not a moment too soon.

The Nest brings a rather Jetsonian look to the scene without the all style, no substance label. Practical, functional and safe, this 3-in-1 chair provides comfort for tots six months to six years. Use with tray for baby feeding, without for toddlers so you can pull the compact shape right up to the table for Junior to join the family. Then, easily adjust the height and it converts to a low chair for older kids. The unique curved seat and tray, available in white or black, can be wiped clean and comes with a machine washable five-point safety harness. Made from durable polyethylene and powder coated steel, Nest's tulip base provides stability and basically eliminates tripping mishaps, while economizing the amount of space the chair occupies.

Needless to say, Nest has won many awards and has been the toast of the European design community. Get one now, use it long and well, then keep it to hand down to your kids when the time comes. This one has collectors' item written all over it.
