It
seems there are quite a few virgin moms out there in the online message
board department. How do we know this? Because one of the most frequently
asked questions we get is: What do all these acronyms mean?
Those of you whove taken the message board plunge have no doubt
found that its a great way to get questions answered, share experiences
and just generally chew the virtual fat with the rest of the population
on Planet UB (UrbanBaby).
But first, you must speak the lingo. Some sample sentences might be illustrative:
BB (Before Baby), you may have thought yourself pretty savvy,
meeting at the latest hot spot with GF (Girlfriends). But
now that youve got a DD (Darling Daughter) or a DS
(Darling Son), youre probably driving your KF (Kidless
Friends) crazy with all the baby talk. They are certainly not ROFL
(Rolling On The Floor Laughing) over your latest great one
about Timmy and the adorable penchant he has for sticking Cheerios up
his nostrils. But tell someone whos used to UBing
(Participating on UrbanBaby Message Boards), and you're likely to get
a response such as: PIMP! (Peed In My Pants
Laughing) or LMAO! (Laughed My #ss Off). You
can debate the merits of letting your baby CIO (Cry It Out)
when it comes to going to sleep, or SJP's (Sarah Jessica
Parker) choice of stroller. Perhaps you want to celebrate your first romantic
night AB (After Baby) with DH (Darling --
or Damn -- Husband, depending on your mood.) And let's not forget, MIL
(Mother-In-Laws) are always good for a little online venting
You get the message. We've compiled a list of favorite acronyms for your
reference. Now no one will know you're NH (New Here).
