Jar None
There's always one mom who is the envy of her peer group. She's the one who painstakingly selects fresh organic produce at the market, then lovingly slices, dices and blends it into her own delicious baby food.
But jar-less meals don't have to be such a production, according to California-based Fifibear's Brasserie. Designer Roxanna Bina started the organic baby food company after she had trouble finding healthy, tasty, convenient food options for her young son, Felix (aka "Fifi"). After the food is cooked and puréed, it is immediately frozen to lock in nutrients and fresh taste without the use of preservatives. All products contain Flaxseed, a source of Omega-3 fatty acids that claims to boost brain development.
Organic herbs, including parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme are added to please the palettes of budding gourmands. The meals were specifically developed as stage 2 food for babies 6 months and older, but
with dishes like exotic asparagus risotto, unstuffed vegetarian peppers and Provence chicken, you may be tempted to sample some of them yourself. Plus there's minimal clean-up.
Which eliminates the need to stick your hands into the crevices of the Cuisinart to fish out stray bits of carrots and sweet potatoes.
