Potty
Talk
The day you thought would never come is finally here: your toddler
is ready for those impossibly tiny Spider Man and Barbie underpants.
Of course, there are a few details to be worked out potty
training, for example. Since most of us haven't converted to the
more European philosophy of letting kids run around butt naked until
they learn how to hightail it to the nearest loo, we are left with
the more gentle route of introducing our little ones slowly to the
rituals of toilet training.
To say nothing of toilets. The adult porcelain throne is sometimes
a little scary or distracting (Hey Mom, this flusher is kinda
of fun!), while the traditional kid-size version is pretty icky,
both in terms of appearance and disposal methods. Plus, it's destined
for the plastic recycling bin sooner rather than later.
Fear not. Just as grown-up toilets have been through a few design
overhauls (Good-bye American Standard, Hello Toto),
the pint-size version has been upgraded as well. Boon, makers of
the fun and practical Frog
Pod, have just come out with their latest invention,
the Potty Bench. And like their first release, this unique training
potty manages to combine modern style and ergonomic features at
an affordable price.
The bright green Potty Bench has two enclosed side storage spaces
for organizing training supplies, and a pullout drawer for easy,
sanitary cleanup. Just close the lid and presto you've got
a sturdy sink stool or mini-seat to sit on while the kids are in
the bath. The sleek design includes a built-in toilet paper holder
and a removable soft deflector shield for training boys.
Admit it you've been looking for an incentive to toss out
the diapers. This contemporary tool just might do the trick.
Now that's a boon for potty training.
