For the Record

Despite best intentions, few of us ever really keep a pregnancy journal, or write meaningful letters to our unborn babies, or even remember to save their first pair of booties. Forget about baby books – once the kid arrives, who's got the time? Sure we feel a little guilty, but we try to make up for it by documenting every birthday celebration with mementoes galore: videos, photos, guest lists, invitations.

All that stuff rattling around in a shoebox can make for a great memory book.
