Egg-cellent
Planning an Easter egg hunt? Even if you're still searching for the plastic shells from last year's party (they must be up in that tree somewhere!), searching the lawn for what the Easter Bunny left behind is a childhood tradition.
Kids' party guru Lisa Kothari shares all of her behind-the-bash ideas – from a Harry Potter-themed fete or a Beatrix Potter birthday – on her website, Peppers and Pollywogs. Below are a few of her tips on organizing an Easter egg hunt:
- Plan to hide five to 10 eggs per child. Think about the age range that will be looking for the Easter eggs, and hide them in different spots that make it challenging and fun for the different age groups.
- Fill plastic Easter eggs with goodies like temporary tattoos, chocolates, jelly beans, small chicks and coins. Make sure the kids have a basket to use when finding their eggs.
- If you dye real eggs, hide those throughout the house so the kids can enjoy two different hunts.
