Who says kid's building blocks can’t be curvy, colorful and—most important of all—engineered to the hilt by one of the most prolific designers of the day? Known for his use of smooth acrylic surfaces, acid colors, and curvaceous contemporary lines, Karim Rashid -- author of more than two hundred designs ranging from coat racks to shiny pink armchairs, perfume packaging to the famous Garbo wastebasket -- has struck again with his Kozmos Blocks.

This hip spin on traditional wood building blocks incorporates Rashid's graphic icons and designs with sleek shapes and unique textures, and they come stored in a beautiful, clear acrylic box.

Who knows, giving something a little less linear to the little one just might encourage the next Frank Gehry. And when all is said and done, you could end up with a collector’s item on your hands: Rashid’s work is already in many museum collections, including MoMA, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and The Montreal Museum of Decorative Arts.
