February 28, 2007 Competitive Strolling  The stroller wars are heating up, with new models coming to market every day, each one more high-tech and brimming with new features. All that competition is good for innovation and price – which is good for you, too. The newest entry in the high-end stroller game is the Vista system from UPPAbaby, and it's designed to go head-to-head with the big boys.It may look a little familiar (resembling a certain ubiquitous model...imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?), but costs a little less and does a few things differently. This one's super light thanks to the aircraft alloy in the frame and wheels. Plus, it folds in one motion and stands up when folded, even with the seat attached – perfect for the overcrowded "parking lot" in the preschool hallway. Tall and leggy types will be as pleased as their shorter sisters with the floating arch rear axle and telescoping handle, which prevent stubbed toes and hunched backs. Adventurers will love the wider rear wheels for sand and snow, and the included weather shield and sun shade for changing conditions – and all models include a storage basket and bassinet with canopy. Staying true to the color wheel (no outrageous orange or urban camo), the Vista comes in modern shades of blue, black, sage and cranberry.
