Parental Advisory: This children's CD contains music you will actually want to listen to.
"It's a Big World," an album of lullabies, is the work of Jeremy Toback and Renee Stahl, two artists with serious street cred. He's an original member of the band Brad, along with Pearl Jam's Stone Gossard, and she is a successful solo artist. Their songs feature simple, repetitive lyrics ("are you a frog, are you a bee, are you the kitty cat up in the tree") that appeal to little ones, but have the sophisticated style and sound of an Aimee Mann and Michael Penn duet.
The disc even has a slowed-down version of Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds," which when you stop to listen to the words, is one of the sweetest lullabies you'll ever hear. Sure beats another round of "Frère Jaques."
