Baby, It's Cold Outside
Kids love winter – the old-fashioned kind, with snowmen, sledding, ice skating and hot chocolate. But, for parents, the season can feel like an endless chore – jackets on, jackets off – and one with very little payoff to boot.
Here's an alternative to puffers and toggle coats: ponchos. Kids can easily toss them on and shrug them off, all by themselves. This makes your life easier and is empowering for your little ones. Check out the newly launched online store, Coco Lane: The ponchos are cool and super-comfy – sort of like wrapping yourself in a blanket – and come in a huge selection of colors and styles.
The most luxurious is the Little Red Riding Hood-like cashmere poncho, available in red with fringe – and yes, a hood. The chenille poncho in either raspberry or cream offers a less expensive version of the same look. There are also two hoodless cotton ponchos with fun tassels: "Jellybean Green," which has a green and black pattern, and "Bubblegum Stripe" in pink and orange. Girly girls will love the "Pretty in a Pink Rainbow" poncho that has four layers, from cream to light pink to dark pink, in a wavy pattern. The collection also includes hooded chenille bathrobes with matching blankets. Catch the ponchos on a bunch of celeb and non-celeb kids in the fashion rags, or just go online and take in the whole collection.
But whatever you do, give yourself a break from zippers, snaps and buttons.
