Sealed With a Kiss
So much of our communication with friends and loved ones has gone digital. A package of recent photos sent off with a note to Grandma has been replaced with an upload to the family blog. Even our kids send email. All this technology is great for staying in touch, but it won't cut it for Valentine's Day, a holiday that requires something extra special.
Instead of pre-packaged cards, boring boxes of chocolate or cliché red roses, try something a little more memorable. Designer Erin Condren's eponymous line of custom stationery has an assortment of V-Day options, all with bold pink and red-hued graphics and modern colored text on crisp white cards. Some have cheeky phrases ("will you be mine...'cuz I think you're fine," "love the ones you're with"); others are simple note cards. All can be personalized with messages and any names you like (your own, your child's, the whole family) and come with envelopes and matching return address labels. Printed gift labels are also available.
And if you missed the window for sending holiday cards in December (no judgment), you can make up for the lapse with a Valentine photo card – because really, who doesn't love getting mail?
