Bright Ideas
Bibs and socks are the baby equivalent of handbags and heels: they're
essential everyday accessories, you can never have too many of them,
and once in a while -- like that unexpected bag you unearth at a
thrift shop -- it's fun to go for ones that are quirky and bold.
Zutano, the brand known for its colorful, original designs, has
a bright new assortment of socks and bibs to bring basic baby-wear
to life. For sizes zero to six, there are 12 styles of knit crew
socks splashed with patterns ranging from candy-colored stripes
to big dots, to cars and trucks and flowers. The newborn styles
feature different characters accented with a solid color on the
heel, toe and ankle band. All are made from cozy cotton, with just
enough stretch to keep them from sliding off tiny toes.
The bibs come in 19 different whimsical prints such as Good Dog,
Fiori, Ring Around, and Big Dot Periwinkle, with a soft, cotton
terry on the back and a Velcro closure that secures easily behind
baby's neck.
For founders Michael and Uli Belenksy, who started Zutano by creating
prototypes on a sewing machine in their Manhattan apartment and
now operate a flourishing company in Vermont, these new accessories
top off the unique designs they have been nurturing for fifteen
years.
Let's just say, they complete the look.
