Sorry. No, I would like to use one of the other Maclaren strollers, but don't know which is most appropriate. ALso, up for suggestions for other strollers, but am pretty pleased with the durability of the Maclarens. We beat the crap out of the strollers for my older daughter.

I agree, for the most part. I guess a better way is asking: is the globetrotter sufficient for reclining to nap? It appears quite a bit lighter, which would be a big plus. Unfortunately, the Volo was too flimsy for my daughter to nap in. She was pretty uncomfortable.

What happened to us where it is totally reasonable to start a sentence with "very important stroller question". My 20-year old self would be so disappointed.

If you have a step stool so they can get up on your toilet, I'd skip the little chair for now. I feel like kids get used to what they know. You can also get one of those little fold up ones for on the go. Super easy. http://www.amazon.com/Sesame-Street-Framed-Friends-Folding/dp/B00076SL0I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1367933612&sr=8-3&keywords=folding+kid+toilet+seat

I have a standalone and a potty seat, both from Baby Bjorn. DC is 3 now. The toilet we have is a little too high. So even with the steps, he'll still need help getting up and down. Whereas standalone, he can go by himself. So standalone will help in potty training situation. I think either one is fine. Start with toilet seat first, cause you'll need it in the future anyways.

We had both, and our DD had no problem giving up the potty seat when she was fully trained and didn't need it anymore. It was good to have at the beginning because we could put it in the living room or move it around the apartment so she could get to it quickly.

insert to poop, pee standing up. Although I can see her point in that a standalone is easier to get them to "practice" sitting.

I started traveling for work when DB was 2 months old. It wasn't easy (on me) but I had great confidence in my DH. 18 years later he and DC have a very close bond. We never had those problems that some families have with a distant, clueless dad. He was a parent from day one.

OP here -- I meant to clarify I meant the babies' dad (my husband), not mine. I'm totally unsure about doing this, clearly, but just out of curiosity, what are the actual risks? i think the biggest problem would be that i would probably freak out, then there could also be problems with pumping, but other than that, what are the concerns?

When the weather gets warmer let him run without a diaper or underwear. I tried that last summer and after a few...ok many accidents, she eventually started going on the potty. I have wood floors. Friends with carpets have done this too

Do not go back to Pull Ups. He knows when he has to go, as evidenced by your statement that he uses the potty when he's bottomless. You would just be giving him "permission" to stop using the potty and go in his pants.

You should never have used pullups - what kind of school allows an un-trained 3YO to attend? Keep him home until he can use the toilet. Don't show frustration - just no pants at home and no underpants at all until he's got it down pat. At school they should be taking them all pretty frequently so there's really no reason for accidents. Underwear feel like pullups to a kid who isn't fully trained. Next time start at 2 and you won't have this problem. They're all ready by 2 - we were all trained much earlier.

I'm OP of that post and you have clearly missed my point. My son doesn't ask for snacks because it has never been an option for him, so he doesn't know better. It's that simple.

OP here. I haven't missed your point. I agree that it's possible your son doesn't ask for snacks because he's never had the option, but I also think that it's quite possible that you're not seeing how much your success with this depends on who he is. My son has always been a big eater and thinks about food ALL the time. I try to curb snacks because I agree with you, but it's a constant battle. And I don't want him to develop a complex about food being denied either. This is not the case with my other son at all. SO if you just had my less snacky son, you'd think you were doing great with keeping to the plan, and you'd pat yourself on the back. I'm just saying, before you start judging and assuming, take a look at your own child and ask yourself how much you REALLY had to do with what is happening. My kids sleep really really well. I think sleep training had something to do with it, but when I see all those parents struggling with kids who wake up a lot I'm thinking, wow I got lucky, not 'those parents must suck.'

NP here. I adopted a young 3 year old. When I first got her, she has very bad eating habits (foster loves her so not attachment issues). Foster will let her graze on junk all through the day. I decided to change it. Healthy, filling breakfast (think oatmeal and not cereal). Fruit or plain yogurt as snack twice a day. Healthy meals. Nowadays, she knows when the food will come, and when to wait. So, yes, that 10% is important, and parents should be responsible. I'd even say it's more than 10%.

my DH was bullied... he said they didn't stop until he started hitting back. sadly, it's the only thing that works. bullies are like dogs, they can smell fear. you must teach your child to be fearless and to have the balls to self-defend, when necessary. when they know that he can deliver a painful blow, they will leave him alone.

Don't be a heli mom and don't manufacture issues. Deal with it IF he gets pushed around. It's much more about personality than size.

If there is a bullying situation, alert the teachers. Helicopter mom is a term invented by lazy parents. There is no such thing as too much love and care for your kid.

Disagree. Helicopter moms solve problems FOR their kids vs teaching/allowing them to so,be the, selves. This is often harder and more painful (for the parent) than just going in and fixing for your child

Is he being bullied or are you just anticipating? Honestly, IMO kids with high self esteem don't get bullied, I'd worry more about that then his size or knowing how to fight

OP- It's not actually happening. He's only two, but I worry because he is smaller in size and I am already seeing other 2-3 year old sizing him up and being more aggressive towards him. Some, not all kids. On a couple of occasions an older boy has pushed him down by his face.

You're 'seeing' 2-3 year olds sizing him up and being more aggressive because he's small? Honestly and truly, no snark, this is YOUR issue and you're transposing it onto your son. You need to find a way to stop this in your own brain now or you're going to create an issue where none exists.

how old? The best and only way, always, is to punch the biggest, meanest bully in the face as hard as you can, with no warning, but it does bear some risks
