[ - ] Wondering if other SAHM feel the way I do: I worked full-time for many years before I had DC. Love her to pieces, have really enjoyed being a SAHM although it's so very different from my previous life. My complaint/issue is that I feel like my life is constantly in chaos. I tried doing FlyLady.net recently, it has helped. We have moved 3x in the last 3 years, it's been very hard. Every time my life is ripped up, our things are a mess, I have to reorganize everything, put everything away. It takes me at least 1 year each time, etc. Fortunately we will stay where we are for at least another 3-5 years while we build up funds to buy a house and put down roots (in Westchester County.) My daughter is a momma's girl, she goes to preschool 3x/week 9-2, so that helps... but I feel like I never get a break. I'm constantly on the go, shuffling lists... stuff is slowly getting done, but I still feel like I'm struggling to manage the chaos, the constant interruptions from her, the interruptions of various appointments, etc. I work part-time now (group ex instruction) so that adds to the chaos/scheduling... does it ever get easier/clearer? I feel like my brain has been permanently damaged from the interruptions, sleep deprivation (she's a good sleeper overall, but we've had issues of her waking at night, etc., she's much better now though). I have trouble concentrating sometimes. As I said, I just feel like I'm constantly in a state of chaos, and I want to feel like things are more under control. Have a housekeeper who comes 2x/week to help (house is pretty big, so I can't get it all done myself.) Anyone BTDT, does it get better, what helped you? P.S. Sorry so long. 12 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

You're not going to get a reasonable/sane answer on this here. It would depend on so many factors. Just know that every time you do a round, you are exposing your body to hormone levels that can be much higher than anything your body would ever produce. How safe is that? The REs will tell you it's fine. But they don't really know. So one answer might be 'as few as possible.' I was uncomfortable doing even 2-3 and moved to donor egg IVF. I was 42 when I decided I didn't have any more time to waste, didn't actually find a donor and get pregnant until 44. Everyone is different. I know a woman (serious nut job, fwiw) who has already done about 12 IVFs, all negative. Some cycles transferring only 1 embryo. Not odds I'd play, but hey, everyone is different. You have to get all the facts, and answer this question for yourself. Just remember you can't 'take back' a cycle, so once you've put those drugs in your body, the damage, if any, has been done. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] what would you do? A friend may sign a business deal with the company I work for. The company typically pays people who refer business 10% (not sure how it would be yet, probably $5K - $10K commission). I know from past experience that if the person who would get the commission says to give it back to client, that isn't what the company owner does. He keeps it, sometime offering free service for a period of time, sometime not (at least not apparently). I sure could use the money (2 kids in college, one in private school) but feel a little weird about it. (if I take the money and pass it to her, it would show up on my income so I would pay taxes on it - pass her the net amount?) 12 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I don't really understand the whole deal. You are getting commission because your friend is bringing her business to your company but your company doesn't want you to keep the commission and you have to give it to your friend AND report it as income? Keep the cash. Your friend is a business owner, and should be making the best business decision for her firm. If you're feeling uncomfortable about it, tell your friend: Hey, looks like you're going with my firm and that's great. But I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable bc I'll get a referral fee and don't want you to think I'm profiting from our friendship. Pls make the best decision for your firm. [ Reply | More ]
