I had a few interviews at a rival firm and near the end of my recruitment, they asked me to draw a detailed flowchart of the systems I had built at the other firm. They were just getting into the business and wanted to hire me to do something similar to what I had done before. I was torn because I felt it was kind of proprietary and an inappropriate request, but I wanted the other job. So, I gave them a high level one page drawing which they could hardly use on their own if they didn't hire me. It felt so awkward. In the end, I turned down the job. [ Reply | More ]

OP: that is interesting. I took a job a few year ago where I got a weird vibe in the interview but they really liked me and hired me as their first choice. They made a big deal during the interview of how invested they were in their employees. Then when I started working for them they were kind of insane and had ridiculous expectations of me as a new employee. Anyhow, it was a horrible experience and ever since that happened I've been very cautious about taking jobs I I get a weird feeling. [ Reply | More ]

Not terribly self conscious. If he's down there at all, it's because I'm feeling comfortable already. But what he does with his mouth - licking, sucking, whatever, gently or more intense, it just doesn't do it for me. On the way to school, my kid usually sees other kids she knows and sometimes they run ahead (I know without a doubt my DC will stop at every corner and wait for me). If they were close enough, I would probably do that. But they have run ahead and I really don't mind but I also don't want to shout down the street at them. [ Reply | More ]

I would be more annoyed that you are letting your kid run wild down the street and encouraging my kid to do the same. I don't let my kid do that because it is rude to other people. [ Reply | More ]

I would say that you trust her to do stop in time but sometimes it scares the other moms when she runs ahead and that she should walk more calmly over to her friends. [ Reply | More ]

I didn't explain very well. We may be walking when we see the other friend. Then both kids sometimes decide to run to the next corner, which is fine by me. So it is not about my DC running to the friend, but the two kids running together down the street away from us. [ Reply | More ]

Okay, I would just tell my dd to may be walk calmly with her friend then because the other mommys might not trust their dc to run ahead even though you trust her. [ Reply | More ]

unless there is no one but you guys on the sidewalk, fine let the kid run - but if it is a crowded sidewalk, keep them under control [ Reply | More ]

You cannot control another mom's anxiety and it does not matter if the sidewalk is crowded or not. [ Reply | More ]

I totally agree with this. If it's on the way to school, it's unlikely the sidewalk is empty. [ Reply | More ]

ita. This can cause car accidents if a driver slams on the brakes thinking the kid's going to run out and the car behind slams into him. Meanwhile, the cause of the accident and mom walk merrily away. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] I'm 27 weeks pregnant and already so tired I can barely get through my days. I've had my thyroid checked, and everything's fine. My work is going to hell because I have no energy, and I'm feeling mildly depressed. Anyone know any good, safe ways to increase energy during pregnancy? 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]
