[ - ] Just wanted to make ub users aware of a resource I just launched for couples coping with pregnancy loss - miscarriage, stillbirth and infant death. Includes multiple resources such as yoga, writing, photography, nutrition, music sharing, the male perspective and health. Hope that some might find it useful. We were recently featured in momfilter.com and were recommended by Dr. Weil. Thank you for the opportunity to share this. www.reconceivingloss.com. 11 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Had a great experience with her in 2011. I moved to westchester and had to commute an hour to the hospital in labor. She 'accidentally' broke my water for me so that I didn't have to leave and go home despite not being quite far enough yet. Also she stuck through with me when labor stalled, didn't force a cssection when I had been there too long. She was leaving for vacation at the end of her shift and stayed on two hours longer than she needed to to help me deliver. Not warm and fuzzy, but happy to answer all questions and very supportive when you need it. [ Reply | More ]

She has been with us since our first daughter was born and is truly a member of our family. She would prefer a family with a newborn and honestly is the "baby whisperer". I'm willing to commute into the city for quality care but would prefer to stay on the east side. Any good peds around 59th and 5th or 59th and Lex? Our insurance is UHC. Also, I'm looking for a more holistic dr., one who does not prescribe antibiotics at every cough and who is open to alternative vaccination schedules. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I live on UWS so can't help you but I highly recommend a ped near you. I can not imagine dragging a newborn into the city so much - especially if you do alt vac which requires more visits. I just make sure I am really educated and an advocate for my child. I have a 4 and 2 year old who have never been on antibiotics because I would not take them for a visit unless I really felt it wasn't viral. [ Reply | More ]

NP: Why would you want to do this? As a scientist, I am baffled. There isn't a speck of evidence that delaying vaccinations benefits children. The majority of peds do not hand out antibiotics easily, in fact it is the opposite. I had good friends who changed peds because they wanted meds for every cough and the ped refused. You need to vaccinate your baby, so I'm not going to offer any suggestions on that, but ITA with other posters that you should find someone who is fairly convenient. The first time you have a sick baby with a double ear infection that is vomiting all over you are not going to want to get on the Q. [ Reply | More ]

Patsy helped care for my newborn and pre-mature twin girls for the first three weeks of their lives at my home. Patsy was wonderful as our daughters’ nurse which enabled me to recuperate from the births and gave my family time to adjust to all of our new responsibilities. Her best qualities include but does not limit: Expert and experienced at caring for newborns Expert at scheduling and sleep training Hardworking Great at organizing Caring Responsible Reliable Professional Please feel free to call (973) 218-0382, 868-8810 or Patsy (347) 265-6244 for additional background. Angela & Thomas Lin. April 2009,   Patsy is a warm, gentle and loving person.  She came into my home and I immediately felt comfortable with her and relieved to have someone with so much experience help me with my newborn baby girl.  Right away, she began caring for my baby and putting her magic to work.  She was really good at understanding the baby's cues thus soothed her quickly.  She helped me keep my baby on a schedule so I could better understand what she needed.  She took over at night and let me get a good night sleep.  She bathed and put the baby to bed and learned my baby's behaviors.  She then gave me good tips and pointers on how to best understand and soothe my baby.  She changed all the diapers, did the baby's laundry, and took her on walks.  She didn't only take care of my baby, she took care of me so that I could get much needed rest and breaks.  I highly recommend Patsy to help you with your newborn.  It was a joy having her in our home.   Lori Wamstad 619-846-0772 24 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I'll never know how my sister did it with her class of second graders...she used to have to open door and throw up outside so they couldn't see. I was working from home or not working or else would have had to take leave of absence. You may find a really strange thing happened. I could throw up day and night, but could somehow get through major meetings/events when I had to. Following something like that, I'd throw up non-stop for days, but it was really odd. Many people have not only asked if I am going back to work (have been a WOHM since 3-month maternity leave ended after DB#1) but also asked if we're keeping nanny on duty during my maternity leave. it's a very loaded question for a lot of men. all along, they've thought, "she's just like my wife". if it turns out their wife decided to stay home, they assume you will. and any comment you make about your choices necessarily is a statement about their wife. just smile and nod and go about your business. actions speak louder than words.
