Exactly -- are not smug they are arrogant and their arrogance is not directed toward anyone (they do not look to you for approval or to reflect their greatness). They would be arrogant alone in a forest with no one to see them.

In my experience -- the sister schools. Especially MOUNT HOLYOKE!!!! And Smith. Next I would say Wellesley. Barnard - not as much because it's right next to Columbia. I've heard that Bryn Mawr is also pretty weird. These women go on and on about how much better off they were being at all-women's colleges. and then they describe their experiences there and it sounds like being at an all-girls sleep-away camp for four years. They also seem like they were isolated and out of touch with the real world.

I get that, but this type is very different from all the other schools listed which tend to be kind of liberal and ethnic, not preppy/lacrosse type places, so to me it's a strange list.

Why are Dartmouth and Brown not listed yet?? Dartmouth has awful neo-con faux-intellectuals (think Dinesh D'Souza), and every Brown alum I've ever met always says he/she went to "Ivy undergrad," and takes forever to reveal it was only Brown.

Nah, they are super smug about specifically having gone to Brown.

THIS. And I'll add Barnard. Every single person I know who went to C/B works it into every conversation within four sentences. It's so aggravating.

The Brown and Harvard grads I now are pretty damn annoying. Brown because they've been so brainwashed with academic liberal bullshit that it's impossible to have real conversations with them. The Harvard grads because they believe they're blessed golden children who've been put on Earth to save it from the unwashed plebes.

They really are. Shoving their annoying "accomplishments" in your face all the time. BFD you wrote a children's book that you published yourself with dad's money etc.

I mean technically they did. I'm a Columbia grad students involved in many Columbia clubs. Half the students in the clubs are Barnard students. They take classes at Columbia, join clubs, use the libraries, etc. They seem just as smart as the Columbia students to me. Barnard has a higher acceptance rate since only half the population (women) are allowed to apply.

Dartmouth. There were about a dozen people from my boarding school who went there. All conservative, annoying, follow the rules and get As but don't think outside the box or read for pleasure types.

Probably Berlin based on the article I just read in the my post about their cafeteria complaints. I would never ever hire one of their graduates after reading that article.

Can't believe nobody's said Cornell! Not all Cornellians and all (least of all the 3 immediate members of my family who went), but the Andy Bernard type is real.
