Could anyone share experience on how you have handled or would handle the prospect of a 15 y/o dd seeming to want to become sexually active? (15 being way too young imo). If it seemed to you that she was heading very fast in that direction, would you try to stop it (for example by carefully monitoring activities and making sure a parent is present at homes she visits)? wwyd?

A parent being present really won't do it. Other parents won't know how closely they need to be watched without you letting on why. They may think nothing about going downstairs to do laundry, and in the big apartments of many UBers, they wouldn't know what's going on anyway. I don't have any real suggestions (and this terrifies me), but this won't do it.

If she has made up her mind, you can't stop her. Make sure she has access to birth control and know how to protect herself from stds. You don't need to give permission -- but you can say, "I think you are too young, and if you decide to violate my wishes, I can't protect you from the psychological fallout from your decision, but you are going to make this very grown up choice, you need to act like a grown up. I became sexually active at 15. I'm not scarred but ideally I'd like my own dd to wait a little longer. talk to her. I was an extremely horny teenager and as a result I had tons of bad sex with lame guys. Getting started early did not do me any favors. I don't know if you can talk to her? supply her reading material if she won't hear anything from you. you an get nuts with the supervision (keylogging programs, etc) but if she's determined she'll do it anyway and she'll lose all trust in you when she figures out you've been spying.

^^^birth control. make sure she's on birth control. emphasize choosing good partners who you've known long enough to know you can trust them. Can't even count the number of times friends were trashed and gossiped about because a guy talked about what they did.
