I am Indian (Muslim) and my husband is American (catholic and white). We have son and we applied to private schools for K. My husband does not think we are "diverse" but I definitely feel different. And our son does not look Indian so he says there is not 'visible' diversity that we bring to the table. I disagree, because as a Muslim I feel 'diverse' and we are teaching our son both religions so I think he should bring some diversity....any experiences, thoughts? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

there was a similar discussion a little bit earlier. diversity, many people thought, is not or should not be simply about race or skin tone, or "how you look." cultural and religious diversity should count. having said that, most people thought that south asian might not be a plus when it comes to admissions. not sure how part-muslim would pan out.
