We are a family of 3. Ds is 6 years old. We do laundry 2x a week. Is this e Excessive? My friend thinks it is and now I'm wondering... How often do you do laundry? How many time will you wear the same tee shirt again before you throw it n the wash?

If you have one set of machines, yes. But if you live in an apt with lots of machines, you can do 2 loads simultaneously once a week.

We're a family of 4 (DC's 10 and 6) and we do laundry at least 3 times a week. I'll wear clothes more than once but I have boys so they don't and DH wears shirts only once (jean's he'll repeat). We have a w/d so maybe we do more often because of that, but I'd rather do more frequently and have less piled up and put away.

Not sure exactly what you mean. 2x per week means you do 2 loads of laundry per week, or you might do two loads each time for a total of 4 loads, for example. If it's just 2 loads total, that doesn't sound like a lot to me. We have a family of 3 and I usually end up doing 4 loads altogether, sometimes more if there's a lot of bedding that week.

I wash my shirts after wearing them once. Ditto socks and underwear. Anything that's getting up close and personal with the main BO areas (arm pits, crotch, feet) gets washed every time. The only things I may wear multiple times between washes are pants and sweaters, as long as there's no obvious soiling. What do other people do?

4 here - at least a load a day. No - I wouldn't wear the same shirt 2x. Skirt? sure. Dress? maybe. Cardigan--yes. Jeans -- depends on the season and duration of the wear.. sometimes 2-3 wears. Who sits around and criticizes laundry habits w/ friends?
