CHelsea Day Preschool Question -- our playdate for admin is about a week before their notification deadline. Does this sound too late? Should I try to move it up for a better shot of getting in?

No. I think they may be more annoyed that you are trying to reschedule. Also, I think they do it based on age so your DC may be grouped with kids closer to his/her age. Lastly, this may be to your advantage as they may be more likely to remember you child.

Chelsea Day doesn't do group playdates. But I agree that rescheduling will make you look like a PITA. PSD particularly screens against PITA's and looks for really nice families. We love the school, BTW.
