Thinking of delivering at Cornell. Should I be worried that it is a teaching hospital? Worried about being bugged by residents. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I think you can ask your OB or nurses to keep residents in your room to a minimum? Maybe I'm wrong. It's worth asking your practitioner. Cornell's a pretty awesome hospital. I only didn't choose it because my OBs deliver at Lenox Hill. [ Reply | More ]

I am a faculty member at Cornell AND delivered there. Believe me, residents are too busy to "bug" you. [ Reply | More ]

Great experience delivering there and I don't recall being bugged by residents. When I delivered my DD at another teaching hospital, the doctors said the residents observe difficult cases not by the book easy ones. And when I had to get an emergency ultrasound or had to go to the labor and delivery room to get checked out, it was the residents who took the time to explain things. [ Reply | More ]
