Expecting a baby in April and trying to decide between delivering at Cornell/NYP and Lenox Hill. Anyone had recent experiences there or have thoughts about which is better? I heard Lenox Hill is more private experience (i.e. less prodding by residents) but my sister in law had a gross experience there 13 years ago where they didn't clean up the room after she had delivered.

Everyone I know has had a great experience at Lenox Hill. I wouldn't let one isolated incident with a lazy nurse 13 years ago affect your decision...

I had a great experience at Lenox Hill 12 years ago. The nurse were mostly good, two were great. I laboured through a shift change. Easy labout easy delivery. They let me have everyone I wanted in my room. Yes, I had a mini crowd, classical music player, doula, mom, mil, sisters, best friend. Baby was 3wks early dh was on the other side of the ocean. Only problem for me was, I wanted a totally natural birth and they kept bugging me about epidural. Thankfully labor was mostly easy until 15 mins before delivery, so I kept politly refusing. As they kept reminding me I was a first time older mother and would probably be in too much pain. Rooms were clean, all in all a wonderful experience.

I had a baby there in may. Great experience, it's small and I got to know everyone pretty quickly. The recovery rooms aren't super newly remodeled, but who cares. The nurses were fantastic at helping me learn how to nurse and I really liked them. Haven't ever delivered anywhere else but I was happy w my experience.

I had a baby at Cornell 2 years ago, and the experience was fine. I did get a private room (I was there 4 days), which was clean and comfortable.
