Is it terrible to give db organic baby food? Am I really supposed to make everything from scratch? At what age can they not have baby food anymore? When they can't, do you give fruit/veg at every meal?

you can give organic food, no problem - you do not have to make it yourself and do not let anyone make you feel guilty for not making it yourself. dd stopped eating jar food around 9mo, she was just too interested in eating real food by then and i try to give veg and fruit each meal. She's 2.5 now, and a good eater, but I also know other peole who gave jars for a LOT longer, and in particular one family who is still giving jars at 2.5...so, let db be your guide.

You don't have to give baby food ever... but organic is a nice option. I ebf'd until db was interested and then I gave little bits of whatever food we were eating, or I was eating. I think fruit/vegetables are more important than all organic all the time, if you don't have easy access to orgainic all the time. Just wash them.

i did homemade food for #1 (which was pretty easy), but i can already tell that #2 is going to get mostly jars--i just don't have the time. it's fine--when you have time mash up a banana, bake a sweet potato, etc. , but use the jars when you don't hav time. we got rid of almost all baby food around 1yo (though would keep a few jars around, in case dd was sick, we were traveling, etc). and, yes, i offer fruit at every meal, and a vegetable at every lunch and dinner (unless we're eating out or on the go).
