Do you 'enjoy' spending time with your kids?
- Yes, most of the time we really have fun together
- Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's really dull and aggravating
- Honestly most of the time it's not fun at all, but it's not supposed to be fun
- I really don't enjoy it at all, and wish I could spend less time with them

Went out for dinner with a friend last night. Mmy share was 27$, hers was 76$. Because of the vast difference, we paid our own way. Friend left only a $7 tip. I mentioned this to her, thinking it was an oversite and she said she is not leaving 11$ and if I have a problem with it, I could pay the difference. wtf?!? I was so annoyed.

Took half of it home. i think she didnt realize it would be so expensive. She did this once before at a sushi place I go to alllll the time. No more eating out with her. RUDE!
[ Reply | More ]A someone related note, I regularly go out with 2 friends who always order multiple apps, drinks, dinner, and dessert. I generally order a salad and water (I'm on a strict diet). When the bill comes, they tell me I should just pay for my salad plus tax and tip, but I always get the feeling that they are annoyed with me.

Poster above: I guess it is a little more complicated. I'm "on a diet" but I'm really trying to maintain my weight after having lost 40 pounds a few years ago. I almost stopped going out with them because I found it so hard to resist ordering something fattening, but I decided to keep meeting up with them because I really enjoy their company.

I get annoyed by people like you. Not because of the money, but because it really puts a damper on the conviviality of the get-together when one person is punishing themselves with a water and salad. It makes the other people feel like gluttons or feel sorry for you. That said, no reason it should put an end to the friendship- just plan to do other things that don't involve restaurants.
