My twins are due in May and wondering what kind of onesies I buy for them to wear - long sleeve/short sleeve, legs/no legs? Can they just wear onesies for awhile (I want to make things as easy as possible). I really have no clue!

      • Footed onesies are problematic if you have tall babies. Too many buttons are a pain in the neck. You may prefer onesie shirts with pants. By May its pretty warm so probably short sleeves during the day, long at night. What I would do is buy just a few of each and see what works best.

    • May can be chilly so I would get a variety -- long sleeved, short sleeved, and some with pants. They can wear anything that you want them to wear! I would look for stuff that is a) comfortable/soft (100% cotton or light fleece), b) easy to launder, and c) easy to get them in/out of for diaper changes, etc. With twins, easy = good :) Congrats -- my twins just turned 5 and it's an incredible adventure! Exhausting at first but so fun and rewarding!

    • I agree, get a variety. Long sleeved for the night, short sleeve for the forthcoming July/August weather. My twins wore onsies pretty much all the time until 12 mths.

    • both shrt and long sleeve. most rooms are air-conditioned lo a low temp in the summer. I loved Carter's pure cotton, white onesies, sold at Buy Buy baby

    • I found those little nightgowns to be great for overnight changes/feedings. You don't have to fumble with snaps, they have kind of an elastic bottom and you just lift it up to change diapers.

        • DS was born in March, we did nightie plus socks and then into a swaddle for sleeping. Our apt, is probably the same temp all year. If it feels cold, you can always take a blanket and put it over DB with the sides tucked into the sides of the crib so that it cannot rise up over their face.

    • I always liked the kimono, gowns, and sleepers better. Pulling a onesie over the self-destruct button was anxiety-inducing at best.
