Want to hear from parents of a child with dyslexia. How is your child doing in school? Do you do a lot of tutoring at home? Are you using any special methods? Any learning centers? Is the child significantly behind or keeping up with school? Please share your experience.
4 replies [ Reply | Watch | Options ]You need to determine if your child has an accompanying auditory processing disorder before determining which reading program is best. The standard is Orton Gillingham. There's also another program called Lindamood Bell. If your child does have APD, a great program is from Dr. Marion Blank at Columbia. It's called phonics plus five. It's the only program that worked for my daughter. FYI: nutrition intervention can also help with language disorders. Let me know if you want more info.
