    • my dd is like this too at 26 mos. she loves yogurt and cheese (but doesn't drink milk at all). Yo baby yogurts are our "go to" food when nothing else works. I would just ask the dr but I don't think it's a big issue. is she constipated though? I think that could be a problem with too much dairy.

      • she probably goes once a day, sometimes twice. this is true even when she eats a lot of fruit (likes berries).

        • oh yeah, berries are huge for us too. berries and yogurt is her favorite meal, regardless of season. you'll have an 18 month check up, right? just ask the dr.

    • i have the same problem with my 14 mo. likes yo baby, goldfish, others are touch and go, sometimes she likes mandarin oranges, french fries, applesauce, sometimes not. she does like juice, though. would never eat baby food, esp. green.. so much different from #1.

            • np Huge sugar hit that doesn't satisfy hunger. Eat fruit. Drink water. I've never served my kids juice. They might have it at a party occasionally, but don't really care for it.

                • So give her veggie baby food. Filling a kid full of juice as a source of nutrition is a VERY bad idea.

                  • she won't eat veggie baby food. a little juice to help with constipation is not bad, esp. when it's half water. get a life

                      • yes, she will drink the apple/prune juice but has never liked baby food at all, esp. green stuff. her 3 yo sister was exact opposite. loved the green stuff. go figure. she does like fish (broiled salmon or flounder) sometimes mashed potatoes, sometime green beans that i mash and put to her, but sometimes she refuses all of them. she is teething pretty badly and i attribute it to that

          • i don't know about yo-baby, but yo-kidz has 9 grams of sugar per serving, which isn't the end of the world. nutritionists recommend giving dcs breakfast cereals with less than 10 grams of sugar per serving.

      • my underweight db would never eat plain yogurt but would eat the organic version of yo-baby (no high-fructose corn syrup) and the ped says that's fine if it gets calcium and calories into him.

      • YoBaby now makes a plain version. Regardless, this is an extreme point of view. There is nothing wrong with giving your child normal YoBaby. Extreme attitudes toward food breed children with eating disorders, which might be what some parents are trying to achieve. But those parents should keep in mind that eating disorders can go both ways and more often than not drive children (and later, adults) to overeat when finally given the chance to make their own decisions.

        • I don't think it's extreme to give them regular yogurt. That's what my son gets and loves- why introduce sugary yogurt? I often serve with fruit. This is much ehalthier and not extreme on any level. And last night he had ben&jerry's for dessert-

              • np ITTTTA with you. I'm fine with high quality treats, but I don't think every food needs to be sweetened. My dcs love plain Fage yogurt; it's one of their favorite foods.

            • We use the big containers and mix it with applesauce and oatmeal for breakfast. DD loves it. She also drinks buttermilk for a snack. IMO if you don't start them on sweetened foods, they wont know the difference anyway.

          • ITA. Why is it extreme to avoid introducing a sugary, processed food into a baby's daily meals? I think foods like yobaby are fine as a treat, but twice a day? It's similar to giving pudding to a baby twice a day. Seems excessive to me...

    • The dairy isn't bad, but yobaby is not a very healthy food. It's yummy, for sure, but tons of sugar. Why not mix plain yogurt with applesauce or something?
