BTDT moms: Does everyone who interviews at Friends get a letter thanking them for parent-child interviews? We got one, and while it looks like a form letter, I wondered if it has any significance other than general politeness.

actually it was 2 years ago, but I found it interesting that they pulled the same $hit after our year too.......that school in particular really made me realize (after the fact- because of people I know who got accepted and didn't - and the ones accepted told them they weren't their 1st choice)...that many people (us included) were just padding in the admissions process.... I am convinced that there is a certain % of applicants whose application fees are just routinely taken and the families are given a "drive through" meeting....and I found friends to be the biggest culprit
[ Reply | Options ]what role, if any, do you think the first-choicing or not plays a roll in the acceptance? it sounds like you are saying more who didn't fc got in when you didn't. maybe they just didnt like your dc?
[ Reply | Options ]it's just that I happen to be very close to this mom/dc....our dcs were very similar. It's no secret that schools don't want to give acceptances out if they don't think the person will accept. They also covet certain kids simply because of who the parents are and this was the case here. I guess I knew this going in but it just really stung to be slapped in the face....the way it all went down was really unbelievable

Are you expecting something special from your dh for Valentine's Day?
- Yes, and he's in big trouble if he forgets.
- Yes, but it's not something I care about.
- No, thank goodness.
- No, and I'm already fuming. He's so unromantic!
- Don't know...
