UrbanBaby - Live near PS 158 on York and 78th. After...

Live near PS 158 on York and 78th. After school I see all these kids around who look like teenagers - no way can I believe they are maximum of 5th grade. Has anyone else walked past and seen these kids? Do 11 year-olds really look this old now or is there a junior high nearby or afterschool program for teens?

- There is a very well-regarded middle school which shares that building, so some of those kids are 8th graders. They are moving this year.

- I doubt it. I have a 5th grader and I think he still looks like a baby. But perhaps it's not until your dc is that age that you think 10 and 11 year olds still look young.

  - op: i have a 4th grader myself so ita that 10yo seems so young - that's why i couldn't believe these dc were 11yo. 1st or makes a lot of sense!

  - Yes, but those schools have uniforms so very easy to tell them apart. The kids OP speaks of must definitely be ESMS kids. They get out later than the 158 kids.
