      • Consider yourself very lucky if you don't know. It's a hormone that doubles every third day is a normal, progressing pregnancy. Falling HCG usually means miscarriage. I'm sorry, OP. BTDT 2x with third = healthy DS if that makes you feel any better.

    • I'm sorry to hear it. When I was going through a m/c this site helped me: www.misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com because it had a lot of helpful information, especially if you're looking for inspiration.

    • I have been in your shoes 4 times and searched desperately for good stories but did not find any. It is not normal for hCG to drop in early pg. I am sorry. Here is an interesting website... http://www.betabase.info/showBasicChart.php?type=Single

    • This happened to me very early on, about 6 or 7 weeks. My dr noticed that my hcg levels were dropping and put me on bedrest for about a week, then made a follow up visit. Everything was normal the following week. I am now 38 weeks pregnant and incredibly thankful. It was a very difficult week so I can empathize with how you are feeling. Best of luck to you and your baby.

      • I am facing the same situation. I am a little over 6 weeks pregnant. I had good numbers in the beginning of the week, but then they fell 2 days later. I had a sonogram today with a high risk doctor and they cant really tell me anything other than falling numbers are not good. They saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac, but no fetal pole or heartbeat. They told me to come back in a week but I am not very hopeful from everything i have read. To the blessed lady who is now past 38 weeks, does the doctor know why your levels decreased? They told me not to bother with another blood test for at least another week...instead said to come back in 1 week. They also are telling me that it looks like I am still a "very early pregnancy" and don't seem to think i am 6 weeks plus. But, I can't imagine them being correct bc I am almost certain when I ovulated and had a positive pregnancy test early...I wish I were off with my calcuations but I don't think so. I think the baby just stopped developing. Any other positive stories would be so very much appreciated! Thank you.

    • This could be a vanishing twin (do a google search on that term). Sorry you are going through this. I do know of a friend that had a successful pg with a dodgy start like this but you should be prepared for the other outcome as well. Hang in there.
