  • Yo Gabba Gabba - love it or hate it? 16 mo old db and I first saw it this week at SILs (we don't really watch TV). It seems like it was created by people who sat around in the 80s and got high while playing Atari and Nintendo. DB seemed to enjoy it though.

    • Yo Gabba Gabba, IMHO, is one of the better shows for toddlers.

    • I've only seen it a couple times, but I found it amusing in an ironic sort of way. Love the DJ.

    • it's one of few shows that parents can watch too without getting bored. the title comes from a ramones song.

      • I agree. My DS loves it. It is more interactive than the cartoons. He gets up and dances to all the songs and imitates Biz's beat of the day.

      • itd. i wanted to love it (jack black guesting? goofy atari graphics? what's not to love?) but i find it to be excruciating to watch. every show is exactly the same and the music is complete drivel. dc agrees. i think anyone older than one or so tends to be completely bored after one ep. great idea, terrible execution.

    • I can't stand it, it reminds me too much of the teletubbies, a bunch of weird looking characters. I did get a good laugh out of it once though. My mom was watching it with dd and that big thing with just one eye bumped into something and all the other things were saying "Watch where you are going." And my mom starts yelling at the TV "He only has one eye, what do you expect, he's got no peripheral vision." I was in the kitchen cracking up but my mom really can't stand it either.

    • if dd likes it that's all that matters. She sings the songs. I let her watch any show she wants on the kid's channels. I don't watch with her ever

        • The only pediatricians I know who follow aap rules are the ones whose kids over 21 or in utero.

              • i'm not sure what peanut butter has to do with the price of tea in china, but plenty of studies that have nothing to do with aap show that parking dc in front of the tv for hours before age 2 is detrimental.

                • I love how everyone assumes that if you child under 2 watches any tv at all, it's for hours on end. My 16mo has a longer attention span than most 5 year olds and is not easily distracted when engrossed in mastering a skill. AND he loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!

      • horrible. every show is the same. dj lance unpacks the suitcase. frownie robie steals a ball from foofah. foofah gets mad. robie bites foofah. the cast sings don't bite your friends. mono acts as concilliator. cut to a kid named hayden flying on an atari rocket through a maze. then a kid named jasmyn doing karate. then jack black doing disco. then smilie robie gives the ball back to foofah. then dj lance does a recap. then they all sing "good-bye, see ya later, we had fun." then dj lance packs up the suitcase to techno 80s theme song. the end.

    • I find that I like it more than my 4 yr old. It is so goofy and fun to watch but 4 yr olds do not appreciatiate/understand the goofiness.

    • My dh and I absolutely HATE IT. I can't even stand to have it on if I'm in the other room. They talk down to the kids and treat them like their idiots.
