  • Spence vs. Chapin in terms of the culture of the school. What can you tell me?

    • I am no expert here but from what I have heard Spence is slightly more academic and Chapin is slightly more social. I am sure someone on the board will disagree...

    • Spence slightly more materialistic than Chapin, Chapin a little more traditional but all in all you will find girls of all types at both schools

    • Used to be that all the three top girls schools had very different cultures. We have (2) DS so even though I hear on here that all schools are now all monied and all the same friends with DDs at the three top say the cultures have not changed much. If that is the case then Spence is more monied with a bit of the Brearley sharp tongued liberalism and Chapin is more social and traditional, smart girls but not as academically focused as Brearley or as Spence in some areas.
