    • your MD can tell you a lot better than we can! However, these pre-cancerous cells can be removed easily, and provided you continue to be diligent with the pap smears, that might be the end of it.

    • agree it could be okay. Let the doc give you all info when he finishes more tests

      • op: Actually it's my aunt. She's not one to even tell people what's going on but mentioned last night that she had to go for blood today, and finally told me her pap came back abnormal and mentioned somethign about pre cancerous cells. She has to go for more ultrasounds, etc, but me being the person I am, automatically freaked out (didn't say anything to her or anyone else in the family of course) so just wanted to hear others experiences or thoughts on it. Thanks!

    • my sister had high grade pre cancerous cells. She had what is known has a leep procedure and hasn't had any problems since then. This was like 3 or 4 years ago.

    • I had this happen and went for further testing, no big deal, false alarm.

    • This has happened to me twice in my late teens/early 20's. First was mild-moderate dysplasia, second was mod-severe. I had cryosurgery twice and more frequent paps for a few years. Since having dbs no problems, which is apparently very common - giving birth sloughs off the lining of the cervix and "cures" the dysplasia. Sounds like they caught it early for your aunt too.

    • How old is your aunt, and more importantly, when was her last PAP smear?
