This is the classic "don't s--t where you eat" scenario. You'll have more leverage in dealing with this if you're not subjected to him every day. Get out of there, get a different job, see if you don't forget about him in a reasonable amount of time. If you feel things were "unfinished," it's easier to approach him from the vantage point of not being his subordinate. If you approach him now, he could fire you.
