    • thompson, because he's the only candidate that is running legitimately (i don't like my voting power usurped so casually)

    • Bloomberg - Term limits are silly. If you don't want someone in office, don't vote for him. There's your term limit.

      • i would be fine with that (i voted against them in the first place) but they are ALREADY the law of the land. if he wants to get rid of them, he should have done it properly. he knows, however, that there are fewer people out there who are so outraged that they will make it the single issue. shame on that man.

      • seriously. the only place they should have term limits is for state/federal legislature where you are subjected to someone else's horrible choice.

    • was voting for bloomie until a couple days ago and i feel like i've now read the last straw when it comes to his lies and evasions about creating new seats in the doe. screw him. i'm voting for thompson even if he is a lightweight.

    • While I liked Bloomie, I am voting for Thompson because I don't believe in what he did to run for a 3rd term. It's a referendum for fairness IMHO.

      • i totally get this way of thinking, but by punishing bloomie by voting for thompson, aren't we just punishing ourselves? thompson is beyond a lightweight imo.

        • I agree. Not happy with his overriding term limits but the city is running fairly well. Don't cut your nose off...

    • I'm not voting for the boyfriend of Diana Taylor so she can preside over more committees while he takes an illegal term in office.

    • Bloomberg. I am an African-American, progressive Democrat. I have voted in more than 20 elections, and I have only voted for 2 Republicans in my life. One of them is Bloomberg. I did not vote for him the first time around. But then he won, and then he won me over. I think he's done a great job for our City and I think he's best positioned to get us through the next 4 years. I don't like the un-democratic way he changed the term-limit law, but I didn't like term limits to begin with. If you like what you've got, why force him out of office?

      • np. i'm aa, and voted against term limits in the first place; however, like everyone else(except bloomberg), i had to go with the wishes of the majority. i can only assume that most people are adopting (like him) an "ends justifies the means" philosophy on this one, but i don't think it should be this way.

        • But by that logic we also have a city charter. And we have rules for how we can amend laws. The City Council (duly elected by the people of NYC) voted to amend the term limits law. Why should the wishes of the majority before any(?) of us could vote trump what we want today?

    • I think Bloomberg would have left Gracey Mansion at the end of this term but then the economy hit the shitter and he said to himself, "There is no way I'm leaving this city, in this state, to those idiots." It was too late to change term limits at that point in any way but through the City Council so that is what he did. Might not be ideal but as was said by somebody else above, I don't like term limits anyway, so I'm ok with it.

    • i just voted for thompson. i voted for bloomie last time and would have again even after the term limits thing but the mess he's made of the schools was the deciding factor for me . i think the last straw was either his recent quote about how parents shouldn't even have the right to voice an opinion about the schools or his claim that d2 schools really aren't overcrowded so there's no rush to build new ones. oh, and test scores turned out to be no higher despite all his claims to the contrary. enough already. with the lying, the arrogance, the condescension. thompson may turn out to be completely in over his head but at least i didn't vote for four more years of this crap.
