  • If I didn't have kids, I swear I'd quit my job and take time off or move to Miami. I've had enough of this job! Anyone feel the same way? Has anyone out there w/kids and more guts than me just throw in the towel and opt for something different? I'd love to hear the stories.

    • I have one 7 yo dd and I think about moving to Paris, London, Dublin, but I don't have the guts -- or the resources, ability to get a job overseas or a work visa or the language skills, in the case of Paris, but I still dream about it!

    • OP: there has to be a better way. I have a new job lined up but it's taking FOREVER to get the offer. So lets just say my motivation at current job is at all time low.

    • If your kids are still young, what's stopping you now? And, when I say young, I mean younger than, say 6th grade/middle school aged.

      • Lack of job in a new place. Have a 3yr old and baby on the way. I swear if dh or I could get a job in Miami we'd jump on it. We've been looking, but so far nada.

        • Are you sure you'll really like Miami? I don't really like FL. We have a house in Palm Beach, and it's pretty gross. No what people think of when they think FL.

    • i don't know. i didn't feel this pressure and this fatigue and this STRESS when i didn't have kids. i didn't need to quit my job and just move to miami.
