Do you 'enjoy' spending time with your kids?
- Yes, most of the time we really have fun together
- Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's really dull and aggravating
- Honestly most of the time it's not fun at all, but it's not supposed to be fun
- I really don't enjoy it at all, and wish I could spend less time with them

Not a nervous Nellie IRL but the swine flu thing coming back is making me really nervous. Especially for my 5 YO. Sigh.

[ Reply | More ]Good thing we don't know each other IRL or we might spin the other up :) I just heard a mom at swim lessons that said she was holding off sending her 2.5 yr old ds to preschool this fall because she's "sure" there's going to be an outbreak. I'm a SAHM and have my 4 year old in preschool and although I tried to tell myself what she was doing was over the top, I have to admit, there was a part of me that thinks it makes me a bad mom (to send him, rather than keep him home). But that's just paranoia talking (or so I tell myself).

My biggest complaint is the lack of full information from the City government. Which schools close and why, details of how the transmission and few deaths occurred. In its effort to not cause a panic, the government is guarded about the information, which in turn causes panic, imo. For instance, during school closings, we heard just about public school closings when I knew from friends of at least five private schools that had also closed, but Bloomberg didn't mention them and the press did very little independent reporting about them.
