Do you 'enjoy' spending time with your kids?
- Yes, most of the time we really have fun together
- Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's really dull and aggravating
- Honestly most of the time it's not fun at all, but it's not supposed to be fun
- I really don't enjoy it at all, and wish I could spend less time with them

when do most kids stop wearing pull-ups at night? dd will be 4 in 2 weeks, has been toilet trained during the day for a year (very easily trained) but still wears a pull-up at night that is soaked every morning. we've cut out liquids after dinner. what else should we do? is it normal for a 4 yr old dd to still wear a pull-up at night? for how long?

He slept the first two night dry and was wet the third. The writer of this approach says no liquids two to three hours before bed. I t has been working for us so far.
[ Reply | More ]normal. day and night training are totally different. day you can teach young. night requires neurological development (of course you can do some training too) and each dc is different. I would say if she's soaking every night, she's just not ready yet. I would still try the usual - no liquids before bed; take to pee at midnight; positive reinforcement. But I would not be punitive at just 4yo. #1 learned at night by 4yo, but #2 was not ready until near 5yo.
[ Reply | More ]yes, it's normal. My older child is 7 and still wears pull-ups at night, even though she was potty trained at 2.3. My younger child stopped needing diapers at night at the same time that he day-time trained. Both are totally normal. Our ped has told us that it has to do with production of a hormone, combined with being a very, very deep sleeper.
[ Reply | More ]My son was 9. We had to get that alarm thing. pediatrician was not real concerned but about age 9 he said: enough. Otherwise he will not be dry until puberty.
