People should watch the BBC documentary or any number of documentaries on 9/11 to remember what is and has been at stake for all of these years. Maybe then you would be concerned by Obama's preoccupation with everything domestic. People who live lives free from terror have such short memories.

I NEVER KNEW: that the stairs in WTC 1 and !! were not continuous. Stairs only ran for a few floors and then you had to cross the building to another stairwell to continue down. How awful
[ Reply | Options ]I haven't seen the documentary. I was in a stairwell in 1 WTC from 38 to the lobby. Didn't have to change at all so it was more than "a few floors". I know people who changed stairwells because the firemen said others were less crowded. I'm not trying to lessen the impact of this, I just feel we should be aaccurate when describing it.
[ Reply | Options ]Ok I take your word for it The BBC doc said that not all stairwells were continuous and some only went ten floors or so before you had to switch. They also never put an evacuation plan in place which I find so strange in the worlds tallest buildings
[ Reply | Options ]I have no idea if my stairwell went all the way to the top. Someone I knew who was up much higher had to switch once. I haven't heard about a lot of switching, but then again I haven't talked to that many people who weren't on my floor. AFAIK there was no evacuation plan. Thank God those of us inside had no idea the building would collapse so we were all fairly calm.

I wasn't one of the people right after 9/11 who was visibly upset or talked about but I will never forget what they did, what it means and how it changed the world and our role in it. That the democrats have forgotten is what will be our demise.

What is with the number of bored, angry right-wingers posting the past couple of days? And what is it exactly that we should be remembering about 9/11? Is there an expensive NEW war we should be starting somewhere? And again--please brush up on the number of world leaders that Obama has already met with--he is hardly preoccupied with only domestic affairs.
