    • $13-15. Definitely not 18 for one dc. Also in my very recent experience, you will have tons of good applicants.

        • In the past 6 months, I have placed ads on Sittercity for occasional weekends and limited weekday hours. 3dc and advertised $15/hour. I had over 70 replies in the first day to weekend and close to that for weekday. Took ads down due to response. Lots of great applicants, most in college or recently finished with school.

          • you weren't anxious about hiring someone that was not recommended to you by someone you knew?

            • No, I have been employing childcare providers in some form for many years. I check references diligently and do an observed trial period. I have never had a problem.

      • OP here: we have a f/t nanny & are looking to transition. she seems willing, but we haven't talked salary yet. Currently makes 13/hr - but we pay overtime on some days(even if we don't use it)

            • NP Sorry that doesn't make any sense. Do you mean that you give her a little extra some weeks? BTW, back to your original question, I would bump her pay to $15-16 as PT work earns a little more.

            • or: I'm still confused. Do you really just mean you give her a bonus every week regardless of hours worked? This isn't really overtime pay if she isn't working overtime. Great if you give her a bonus, but it isn't OT.
