  • Doctor found a thyroid nodule during a routine exam; it's 3.1 cm so I'll need to have a needle biopsy to determine if it's malignant. I'm planning to wait until after my baby is born in 5 weeks. I know thyroid nodules are normally benign but can't help obsessing about it. Ugh!

    • If you do the biopsy now, the results will be back before the baby is born, and you'll be ready to start a treatment plan if you even need treatment) as soon as the baby is born. Plus you'll know whether it's benign and you can stop stressing. The last thing you need is one more thing on your mind.

      • OP--Hmm. Not a bad thought. I'm waiting to book an appt with the endocrinologist. Hate to do anything invasive but maybe that's just me putting off a needle in my neck!
