    • truly, this is it: don't take other people's advice about babies. Your baby is a unique individual. Getting to know him or her takes time and once you do, you won't be seeking advice anymore.

    • That little babies are only little for so long and it's not long enough. Don't get so overwhelmed and stressed that you end up missing the baby phase because it's gone so quick.

    • none baby related: when you get a gift, smile and say thank you. baby/child related: if you spill shampoo or baby wash onto your child's face, do not wash it off; you should wipe it with a dry cloth.

        • if you wash it, it suds up and makes a huge mess. if you use a dry cloth, you can just wipe away the bulk of it and then wash off the residue. signed, mom who learned this the hard way.

          • ^^^the other thing i have learned the hard way is that if your young child sucks on one of those soap mitts and then cries, bubbles will come out of his/her mouth.
